Process

How it works

Three steps, most of it handled by us.

01 — You sort

Box it up

Group your items loosely by type. No need to remove batteries or clean anything — we handle that during processing.

02 — You choose

Drop off or schedule a pickup

Bring items to a partner location any time during opening hours, or book a home pickup if you have a full load.

03 — We recycle

Data wiped, materials recovered

Every device with storage is data-wiped to a certified standard before it's disassembled and sorted for recycling.

Why it matters

What's actually inside

  • Electronics contain metals like copper, aluminum, and small amounts of gold and silver that can be recovered and reused instead of newly mined.
  • Some components contain lead, mercury, or flame retardants that need careful handling so they don't end up in soil or groundwater.
  • Devices with storage can hold personal data long after you've stopped using them, which is why certified wiping is part of every drop-off.
  • Working devices are refurbished and passed on where possible, instead of being broken down for parts.

Any device with storage — phones, laptops, drives — goes through a certified data-wipe before it's processed further. You can also wipe your device yourself beforehand if you prefer.

No — leave batteries in place. Our sorting process is built to handle that safely, and removing them yourself can be risky for lithium-ion batteries.

Yes. Larger volumes from offices or businesses are best booked as a scheduled pickup so we can bring the right vehicle and paperwork for you.
